Why Woods?
Woods have a unique draw. By owning them you have an incredible asset. One that can deliver financial, environmental and community benefits. We want to blend commercially managed forest with enhanced environmental benefits and increased access to these wonderful spaces for all.
At the moment woodland investment is difficult. It's expensive and any sort of financial returns are only available to big investors who can buy large enough woods to make it viable.
We want to bring woodland ownership to all by using the power of crowdfunding. Then no matter how much you have to invest, anyone can share in the magic of woodland ownership.
Our 3 Motivations
Financial
We expect to deliver a financial return to our backers. Woodland we buy together will be managed commercially as a source of sustainable wood. Wood is in big demand, in the UK we import 70% of what we use. There's also other benefits like inheritance tax exemption.
Environment
Woods play a cruicial part in our landscape for many environemntal reasons. From protecting out native wildlife to reducing flooding in our towns and cities. Although our woods will be commercially managed the environment will be equally important.
Recreation
People love spending time in woods. Therefore one of our priorities is to get more people into woods: exploring, being active and appreciating nature.
